It takes time to find the right person. It has nothing to do with your sobriety. If you want to find happiness with the right gal be friends, then companions then see if it is really love. Alcohol is only one of many addictions..we can get caught in the relationship merry go round unless we think think think...and take your time...make any sense?

Never fear my friend. Good things alway come to he/she who stays sober and waits. I am a friend of Bill W. too and it saved my life in more ways than I can count. If I got to get drunk to find a woman - heck I will just stay single then.

Oh man, it sucks not to be able to enjoy alcohol. I have a neighbor in your situation. He was out on the tikiboat drinking Vernors when everyone else was getting bombed. That suuuucks big time.

Tiki, it doesn't suck at all man. I haven't fallen off my boat at put-in-bay, sober! It is a lot better of a life for me!

Hello to all of Bill W.s friends and everyone else. Yes I am a friend of Bill W. and have not had a drink since March 3rd,1990. I to am looking like a lot of others for that someone special and yes it seems like there are times when I get rejected because I no longer drink. However that is maybe not so much a rejection as it of the GOD of my understanding telling me I have not found the right lady yet.
I have turned my will and my life over to GOD when I tell HIM each day "My Creator, I am now willing that you should have all of me, the good and the bad to do with me as thou sees fit".
I am only an arms length away from picking up the first drink, but as long as I can remember my last drunk I have a good shot at another day of sobriety, and that day is today.
For some ladies it may not ba a case of that they don't want to be with someone who doesn't drink, instead it may be a case of they prefer to be with someone they can share a drink with, a social drinker and that is okay, however I will never be one of those.
Maybe it is the fear that I might pick up that drink, but for me I don't have to drink to have that stinking, drinking, thinking and a lot of time it is fear that helps me not to pigk up that first drink. Like someone else said, I have another drunk left in me, I truly believe I do not have another shot at soberity in me. So for me I must remember where I came from and how I got to where I am today, and that nothing is going to make me glad enough, sad enough or mad enough to pick up that first drink today. ODAT

I believe GOD has someone special for us all and when the time is right HE will join the right two together. Thy will not mine be done. Sober today by the Grace of GOD and 12 beautiful steps.

I have been clean and sober for more then 2 1/2 years now. I can say
for myself that life is gotten so much better since I've put down the bottle and grew the hell up.
I am a much more responsible person. I tend not to argue, and tend to have a lot more money in my pocket. I look at myself when I get anoyed instead of thinking others should change to make me happy.
Yet when women find out I'm not a drinker, they seem to look at me like I'm drunk. Why is being a non-drinker such an issue?
Is there something I'm missing here?
I would think women would be happy to have a man that likes to spend time at home, or out having fun with them, instead of out with the boys or at the bar.
So what gives?
