I was starting to go to church.
I'm not real educated on the Bible.
I have always heard that he is a good God.
Well last year my 18 yr old grandson which I raised,
was in a truck accident.
They said both toncils bursted,a blood clot in his lungs and his brain was sliced in half.
I'm still having a horrible time dealing with his death.I cry a couple times a week because of me losing him.
If there is really a God.....why does he allow things like this to happen.I know I have heard that you aren't suppose to question him but .....
Maybe me typing this is a way of relief for me.
But is there really a God?

joyce, I believe there must be some one out there. As a young teen I was clinically dead a few times after seizures, then at the age of 19 my head was stuck in the motor of a truck after being hit head on while riding my motorcycle. Not only did I survive all of this you would never know to see me that any of it happened. In fact I went back to shcool for my grade 12 and made the honour roll in 2000. Is there a God? I don't know, but I do know that there is some one. I also believe that everyone has only so much time on this earth and when your time comes there's nothing you can do to prevent it. I know this may not be comforting to you, but after I loose some one I'm close to I try to figure out if there is another person that has gone previously that would need them more than me.

i could give you a couple of stories that will make you question many things but the one piece of advice i can offer is to sit down and read the bible a litteral translation of the hebrew bible and then think about it
dont let others tell you what it says or means you have to figure that out on your own orginized religion is great for weak minded people and i dont mean that in a bad way we all have crutches that we fall back on and we all need guideance

Joyce I am very sorry for the loss of your son, this should never happen to anyone.

To answer your question....I do believe there is a god of sort's. But my personal belief is that he lies in each and everyone of us. I dont understand why your son was taken so early. I do believe that everything happens for a reason, I only wish I could say something more but life is hard thing to explain aswell as the taking away of it.

Maybe it does have something to do with when our time has come to move on to bigger and better thing's ? Maybe it is the point of evolution in us all to pass on ? I do believe your son will be with you always, regardless of how life evolves. I only wish like everyone else I knew the answers.

Joyce there is one and only one correct answer to this
question, which sounds facetious, but is true:

"God only knows!"

Anyone who claims He told them is a human being, and
may be making a mistake or not telling the truth. So
we just don't know. I am not making the strong agnostic
claim that we can't know. Maybe we can. But I sure don't
and I wouldn't trust anyone who said he or she did know.
It is too important a matter to take on trust. Trust only
God.

Tragedies happen all the time, loved ones pass away peacefully, or are "stolen" from us. It is true God only knows. We all have free will and the ability to love God. Maybe God needed your grandson up there with him for some reason, or He just wanted your grandson to meet Him face to face. You never know what God has in store for us, just realize that your grandson is waiting for you with God, and is happier than we will ever be down here.

Joyce,
You have my deepest condolences. I truly do not know how I would deal with the loss of one of my children at such a tender age. I am sure knowing all the details does not help. I actually do believe there is a God, He created everything that is natural, He gives life and takes it away, No matter what life form it may be. How and when He chooses to give and take is beyond my comprehension. This February 21st, I saw my father, who was 80, take his last breaths. My mother said before he went unconscious that he raised his arm up toward Heaven. She also said that she told him she loved him and he got tears in his eyes and she wipes an eye and he turned for her to wipe the other. After many hours right before he had slipped away he opened his eyes for one last time to look at his family. After looking at our mother he closed his eyes and took his last breaths. All of his children and their families had come to see him for the last time. It was truly a beautiful thing. I am thankful God took him quickly instead of having him linger in such pain. I know this does not compare to your loss but I truly felt a beautiful presence. I hope you can work through your grief and find peace in all this.

Truly,

Lene'

Thats terrible, very sorry for your loss'es.
I believe that God gave us freewill.
Most bad things that happen on this planet are Man made.
Cars are man made, accidents in cars are man made.
There are lots of natural disasters, I don't know, a fling in Gods creation, something nature needs to have happen for reasons beyond our knowledge, well some we know.
Evil people, there choice.
Personally, I don't think its much more complicated than this, we as humans have this brain that likes to make it complicated.
But now to kind of contradict this, I think our time is numbered, I think we all have a certain time to go, I know this contradicts what I just stated, but I am still in somewhat of questions.
I watched a very good friend lay dieing for 3 days, we started off telling him, Donny your gonna make it, and the last day where telling him to let go, its ok to leave, having to watch his kids was very tuff.
Life is, I don't know.
All in all I certainly believe in God, I ask him all the time why in the hell certain things are going the way they are, he never answers me like another person would, but he does in time by showing me.
I have been through some pretty difficult stuff the last 6 years, I can see why now, I needed the strengh for where I am at today.
One thing I do myself, I speak to God in private, and talk to him how I feel most comfortable, sometimes I am very frustrated with him and everything, I tell him and I say it like it is, cussing and all, I figure he's God and should be able to understand the contex in which my language is in.
I was told one time, he probably figures, at least he is showing faith.
I hope someone says something for you to go with, stay open minded, maybe you'll find what works and grow from this and help others going through the samething.
I am sorry to hear of your loss.
Take care and hang in there.

I have read all the reply's and I do feel somewhat better..

Thank you infinitydragon,
About the time of his accident that song came out..The one that says God needed help to pour out the rain..
Well if Jason is helping to pour out the rain he would be laughing his butt off knowing he is getting all of us down here all wet lol
Thanks again

Actually, I think I may have said that a tad bit wrong.
I appreciate things alot more and the small things that use to seem alot bigger don't do too much to me anymore. I let alot more roll of my back now than ever.
I don't have anything bad going on, I just meant the little annoying things are extremely less anoying.
I am sure I will be thrown a few more curve balls in my time, but I more and more realize everyone more or less deals with the same type stuff, and most of them get thru it, so I figure, I will as well.
I guess thats faith, no, I know thats faith.
Did you hear about the 2 kids lost at sea, I think off North Carolina coast, pretty sure thats correct.
They where like 13 and 15, one of them was talking of chopping his finger off to eat it he was so hungry.
They where a drift for like 6 an a half days, they talked about how they spoke to God, they asked each other why would God do this to us, do you think he will let us die like this, why would he let us suffer then let us die ?
Around the 6th evening they said they saw a shooting star that night, then in the morning saw dolphins jumping in and out of the water next to them, then they saw a big rainbow and after that a fishing boat showed up and recued them.
Its much better to read the story, its without a doubt a tear jerker and it was in the news paper.
I think you may want to read this story, I know it was in the L.A. Times today, 5-3-05, you can go to latimes.com and I am sure find it there.
The point to you from me is, look at what these Kids went through and hung on to faith and made it, read the story, you will find it very incredible.
Its very possible to be ok through this.

i am 21 years of age and at age 19 i had an experience that scared me. wasn't like a car wreck and didn't involve any near death experience. it was very eye opening and like i said it scared me. it was reassurance that there is a god and there is a satan. they are VERY real and something to fear. trust me.

Of course there is a God.
And he's a wonderful,Loving God Whom takes all the blame of the World for all the pain but doesnt get near enough thanks when anything good happens.
With so much evil in the world its a shame that God has to take the blame.....Im not a preacher thats just how I feel......Theres so much beauty in the world and when something bad happens it is so easy to point the finger at God
