blathin: Thanks for putting that up Tulefell, you're right,, it was worth it. This is what they should be teaching in schools to kids..and expecting parents.

The same Dr Lustig says a lot of what you said in your post in his another presentation from 2009 "Sugar: the bitter truth" and it also is worth every second. I checked and it turned out that our library has this book of his, but there's a queue, I put myself in line :)
But I don't agree that we are victims. Children, certainly, as they cannot chose and have to consume what their parents feed them. But the adults have choices. It's not that difficult to find information about what food is good for you and what's bad and why. Nowadays you can't put on a kettle without it telling you that you should eat more fibre and eliminate sugar. We cannot claim victimhood, only ignorance.
By the way, have you seen that somebody gave you a "thumb down"? Made my day :D
