When does our spirit leave our body? I have always believed that our spirit needs atleast three to leave our bodies....from personal experiences....and the fact that that the churchs always say "on the third day He arose from the dead and ascended into heaven" What do all of you think? This has been on my mind lately....

It leaves just after the last breath. If you watch good you can see it spiralling out of the scull.

What you may not realize is that as a spiritual creature you are actually free to leave your body anytime you choose.

You may not be able to get back in it though so if you try this be careful.

I'm with West on that one.....I watched both my Mother, and my Father pass...and I know the moment that they left....my Mother glowed with such love in her final breaths...she was already one foot in the door of where she was going....solved the myths and doubts for me...I know there is more.........

All I can tell you is that from what I have seen when my father died. I watch him as the look of serenity came upon his face, he exhaled his last breath, and I could have sworn I seen him release his spirit through his last breath. I also believe that the angels were there unseen to guide him into the next world.

I can't help but think about those who you hear about who die suddenly...not of their own choosing or from a disease or just old age...you know those programs about spirits who stay here awhile in limbo....

I honestly think if someones death is so unexpected or tragic that sometimes the soul doesn't move on right away. JMO

Louise, my friend and the woman that initiated me as a Reiki master, always sees the spiral, leaving the scull. I have seen it with my dad, and with a man that was shot in the street. However Louise says that when someone is on heavy medication the spiral is fawlty and makes strange moves leaving the scull.

It can leave temporarily anytime...

It does leave immediately after death. Where it chooses to go differs for alot of reasons...

"In every living thing is the spirit to be free."

I have no idea about where it may wander off too, but I do believe it wants to be free in psychological way.
