A Glock Switch is a $20 part that converts a semi-automatic Glock pistol to full automatic, a machinegun. Interestingly, it is not illegal to own a Glock Switch. It is illegal to have one installed without a federal license. It is also illegal to own a Glock Switch and to possess a Glock pistol. The ATF considers that intent to own a machinegun.

The shooting was the 16th mass killing in the U.S. this year. A 17th took place in Maine on Tuesday. A total of 88 people have died in mass killings so far in 2023.
