Of course, we need love too - that doesn't change with age but then its not decided by gender, race, etc either. I am 45 (just!).
Sadly, a lot of Brit men don't appreciate the more mature woman, they still like the girlies. The French and Italians do and they are much better at the romance thing too. Don't have much time for Brit men in the romantic sense, though they are great as friends, particularly if they see you as one of the lads (to an extent). Its always been that over a certain age, you should be put out to pasture but, thankfully, that has been changing over the years. Women are no longer the frumpy types they used to be, busy working, stylish, fashionable, making a worthwhile contribution - and with a wealth of experience and wisdom (well, that bit's not me!). Hey, GIRL POWER!!!
