The problem with cars depends on the reason for buying. They never do what you want them to do.
To get the sock out you need to find it a mate. Tell the sock mate how attractive the missing sock is and then lay it in the boot of the car (Not your boot) They will smell each other and attract the lost to the found. When found Don't place near Washing Machine as this will break up union.
The Dipstick is their to help u feel superior to the car. If you are unable to do this go buy a dumber car. This is why car dealers do good business. Buying dumb cars and try ing to on sell.

Was the engine running at the time you cleaned Carb? if so the carb sucks in air and possibly sock is in there, but I doubt it,
