Lots of guys on here say that theyre old fashioned romantic types, how can they be old fashioned when theyre dating using the most up to date medium. And in a way wich is anything but romantic.

What little white lies or over statement is the funniest youve ever heard?

(nothing mean or nasty though lol) rolling on the floor laughing

See what your doing is misrepresenting romance and mixing romance with manners and civility. Just because you pull a chair out or hold a door open for a woman, this makes you romantic?. I always thought of romance as somthing beautiful, the way its being put accross seems quite overly simplified.

Romance?....... My idea of it anyway (so not to make too broader statement lol) its intense, passionate, painful, exilerating. Romance is emotion deep stuff that i cant explain, i just think that its alot more than polite gestures.

Someone I can stay in contact with periodically by writing or calling.
Someone I feel at ease with, who I can relax with, be frank with and feel comfortable enough to spend time with even if there's no conversation.
Someone who is calm and gentle — not short-tempered.
Someone I can confide in. Someone who doesn't keep secrets, who is open. Someone who does not talk to other people about what I confided in him/her.
Someone who is caring, is concerned for me and takes me seriously.
Someone who is considerate, can understand how other people feel, is kind, and is not spiteful toward others.
Someone who does not overly depend on others; who can take care of him/herself.
Someone who does not look down on me, make fun of me or say terrible things about me.
Someone who encourages me and cheers me up when I am down.
Someone who is joyful to be with and is a cheerful person.
Someone who is a positive person who desires to improve him/herself.

Someone I can talk with and consult about anything.
A person I get along well with, who's on the same wavelength and has similar sensitivities and a similar sense of humor.
Someone I can spend a long time with who is a good companion.
Someone who is a rival in a good sense — who would stimulate me.
Someone who can be serious when the situation calls for it.
Someone who does not brag about him/herself or act self-important.
Someone who understands the difference between what I consider prying and developing/maintaining emotional intimacy.
Someone who has similar values and ideas.
Someone who has similarities with me — interests and hobbies, and the same economic strength as I have.
Someone I can respect and who possesses some knowledge I can learn.
Someone who is willing to listen to a partner's opinion without forcing his/her own.
Someone who clearly says what he/she thinks.
Someone who is sensible, not too excitable and does not act hastily.
Someone who is straightforward/not hypocritical and apologizes when he/she is wrong.

Someone who wants a give-and-take relationship.
Someone who is cooperative — not self-centered and not egoistic.
Someone who is sociable.
Someone who is trustworthy and reliable.

Someone I can have a long-term relationship with.
Someone who advises me, who can tell me when I am wrong.
Someone who is big-hearted, tolerant and does not worry about the details.
Someone who is honest and faithful — who does not lie, keep things secret or withhold important information.
Someone who does not speak ill of others or talk behind people's backs.
Someone who has a sense or responsibility and keeps his/her promises.
Someone who has a sense of self and has his/her own ideals.
Someone who has common sense.
Someone who treats everyone equally.
Someone who understands me, knows my personality and accepts who I am.

Is this post supposed to be the meaning of romance or a massively long overstatement or pack of white lies ?

This post was meant to be about the way people judge romance and what constitutes being a romantic. Peeps seem to think differently though, seems many peeps think its a thread to tell the world how romantic you are. grin

I actually ticked the box to quote I was replying to wishmakers post on my last message but it didnt work, yeah, get your drift though about your original thread going adrift, aw must be springtime bringing out the romance in people though.

You have plenty of time ahead of you to find someone, they'll probably turn up when and where you least expect them to. Good luck anyway.
