Would you stay in a place that allows smoking ( uk members are affected by this) on a date ..if the person you were meeting liked it but you would not usually stop...

No smoking. I wouldn't stay in a place that allowed smoking. Happily Minneapolis, my hometown, wisely bans all smoking in public places, this includes bars and restaurants.

it is coming to that everywhere doesn't really bother don't smoke

but if they installed the proper air filtration systom then you would not really know if someone was smoking

but that cuts into the profit and can not have that after all profit is what rules the world in most cases

put what do i know

In NH it's no smoking in public places. Doesn't bother me one bit.

I heard about a politician in NJ who wants to ban smoking while driving. Claims it distracts the driver

I really don't care what they do in bars since I never go in bars. Seems to me that if you're going to sit around and drink you may as well smoke up a storm too. Not to say that I won't have an alcoholic beverage with a meal, or a glass of champagne at home, but sitting around drinking in public is just plain stupid IMHO. People aren't suppose to drink and drive, yet how many people do you see actually walking home from the bars? Yeah right. Bars have just become food for DUI traps anymore.

In any case this thread's about smoking in public, and I really don't care if other people do that. I eat at restaurants all the time that have smoking sections and I've never been able to smell the smoke from those sections. If other people want to smoke more power to them. At about $5 a pack for cigs they must be pretty well addicted!

No smoking in my house. I have respiratory problems because I used to be stupid way back when cigs were 25¢ a pack and so now I simply can't tolerate smoke anymore. It's a medical no-no for me.

Me and some friends went to the bar the other night and they had a sign posted as of March 1st the bar/restuarant would be a smoke free environment. Man are they gonna lose some buisness big time. I don't know about you but I can't drink beer and not smoke wouldn't feel right. But then again I need to quit anyways and plus my diabetes really wouldn't like me to well if I drink too much so darned if I do and darned if I don't. understand what yer saying though

Good points. I don't smoke but it's legal and there should be places where people can smoke without being persecuted. There's a county in Maryland that passed a law where you can't smoke OUTSIDE! I think it's being challenge.

About breastfeeding - I think it's great that you could do it. I admire women who can do it gracefully but I always felt too self conscious.
