I like to cook a nice dinner sometimes. ,,,,,,but I always ask for payment afterwards..... ,,,,unless the dinner is not good ,,,then I just have to run and 
,,,,,,,,,,it is not ussually the case though. I would expect to pay if I was asking someone out on a date, though I have many times in the past split the cost or took turns, however ,,, on a first "date" I would have it all taken care of, to me it would be a no-brainer.

That's a good attitude. It hasn't happened to me but unfortunately I know girls who just go out on a date with a guy they don't even like just to get free food (told me that to my face). And that's not a joke.

well call me old fashioned but i was tought if i asked anyone to dinner i should pay,and if ive been asked out to dinner i should offer and leave the decision up to the offerer..........i ve always followed this rule even in business n found it works well,but then the brits are way behind you guys in political correctness

I agree with you. I don't mind paying. I don't like going for free unless the other party explicitly made it clear they are paying for a reason beforehand.

asking some one out on a date does not mean " i want to pay for you all night". personally if i asked someone out for a drink i would offer to pay but i dont believe its a rule. would some one like to go to dinner or ill bring you to dinner.... get what i mean?
