Ok I never fully understood what this ment would somebody care to explain it to me??

Its when you accept jesus as your lord and savior.you get to go to heaven while the rest of us dont.

Well, God tried to save the people in the world once. He had Noah build this big boat. All these animals came into the boat and Noah's relatives. Everybody else got a baptism of full emersion. Needless to say as Bill Cosby put it they had trouble treading water after a while. So it rained for fourty days and fourty nights. Well, that lasted for a while along with the sacrifices. But that wasn't good enough. You know how picky some can be. So God sent his son and his son died. A lot of animals were saved since they didn't have to sacrificed any more. The same option was given to people if they could accept the story of Jesus. Jesus said you didn't even have to believe on him but just on his works if you didn't buy that. It is a belief that even though mankind still screws up daily that he can ask for forgiveness. Some like the concept once saved always saved but I look at that like once married always married. I don't buy not asking for forgiveness each time you screw up. Nothing wrong with saying you are sorry. Hell, we all screw up. It is just a personal choice and whether you believe it to be true is just up to the individual. Personal choice is where it is at for me.

Accept Jesus...Does this happen when you are baptized or confirmed or something. I was raised catholic I don't ever remember referred to as saved. I broke away from the catholic church for many reasons.
So is what your saying Roy is that if you lead a Rightous life you are saved? You said believe in his teachings but not necessarly him...Would that encompass Muslems Jews Hindu Pagan you know non christians if they live a good life?

Oh, so I'm a Christian, baptised, but now there's a new requirement and now I don't go to Heaven if I die?

born again...ohhh wait a min I think I vaguley remember a dipping service I believe they called it when I worked at a park when I was young.They were in the ocean, I thought it was their version of baptism.

is this accurate Arabella is that what being saved means you are of the chosen and the rest fry even the baptized...guess I'm screwed too !If this is the case.

And us ordinary Catholics, Episcopalians, Methodists, Congregationalists are not "saved" and don't qualify for that thread? :)
