They say you can only make a first impression once - how true!
It seems that I made an excellent first impression on a few lovely ladies yesterday - they are ganging up like the witches in Macbeth to decide what to throw in the cooking pot with me!
'Hubble, bubble, toil and trouble - isn't life a muddle?'
Oh, well - I guess I'll just concentrate on ladies in 'my age group' - any nice grannies out there?
Thanks, Damian............ I'm not bragging about the good fortune bit, I feel almost guilty because I don't deserve it - I've just been very blessed when I least expected it. I've always put love before material things, and was poor two out of three times when I got married - nobody ever married me for my money!
Wedward - I've seen a lot of your posts. You seem to be a gentleman. I'm very sorry your Austrian bash died a death. I once got invited to Salzberg for a weekend by a very beautiful lady. I didn't hesitate and flew out as soon as possible. It was a wonderful weekend and I really appreciated being spoilt and shown around and all that good stuff. Kaiser beer and Mozarkugeln rule ok!
Hey - if I go I shall go along alone. I'm just not 100% I want to go right now as I have something I might need to attend to in Berlin - a long-lost close relative.
Yes, a regiment I was attached to did take it in turns with the French, Americans and Russians to guard Rudolf Hess. He was in Spandau prison and I was in Brooke/Wavel barracks.
professor:
A guy who worked for me wanted to volunteer to be on duty to guard Hess for a week; in the end I let him go. I guess it was his one claim to fame, apart from jumping into the Havel from the canoe club on an office party. The idiot broke his neck and was off sick for almost six months!:
