Storm

and suddenly it came
a cloak of pessimism
let fly on the earth
the very air heavily hanging
a retribution for misdeeds
whilst school children
squeal with delight
rain battling down
mauling the gloom
thrashing and penetrating
hastily raised shields
of bags and books
and shattered umbrellas
the ground is gorged
and rivers course the highways
a deluge of unwanted irrigation
pathways are obscured
the grim murk grows
lightning snaps the devastation
of a human snakepit
thunder roars its applause
of the accelerating insidiousness
and then calamity complete
the torrent stops
the storm moves on
and the air is still

Very much like the snapping lightening and applauding thunder, as well as the strong contrasts.

Thank you.

Vivid indeed. My hope is, when I go back to Detroit in a week, we get a good old major thunderstorm - something that seldom happens here.

And thank you sir. tip hat
