It's difficult to tell if someone is in a relationship or not particularly when communicating through a computer. Although you tend to pick up many clues if you don't rush into meeting anyone too soon.
You tend to pick up clues as to whether someone is in a relationship though due to their responses. The unfortunate thing is many of those in solid relationships appear not to be able to read english and therefore don't understand the term single.

this is a great place where you can meet or get in touch with people from different parts of the world and it's like being in a giant party where you can talk to one or another about anything you like.
It can be adictive up to a point I suppose and I think that even if I found my other half I would still participate in the forums. I don't see why once you've found the love of your life you should stop talking to other people.
If you are contacted and you like them, I suppose the best thing is to ask whether they're taken or not.
