I have just been talking to friend who is not a member of this or any other forum-
he has no convictions -here or in the USA.She has just been detained without legal counsel for 15 hours.
She has been forcibly stripsearched and denied legal advice
After 15 hours she was released and the officer had the cheek to say "enjoy your day!
Comjments from US most welcome

In one part of your post you refer to your friend as a "he" and then in latter parts as a "she"? I'm confused on the gender, but all that aside, I believe it's unconstitutional to forcibly detain and strip search someone without probable cause. If I were your friend I'd get into contact with the US Embassy in the area in question and maybe see about getting some type of counsel as to what to do next. I've never traveled overseas so I do not know the protocol, but hope this info helps in some way.

She has legal recourse. The problem is, The US operates in unlawful search and seizures all the time. The victim has to pay for legal representation to fight such charges. This brings alot of revenue into the States. Most can't afford such a law suit. This Country is not what the Constitution makes it out to be. If she can afford it. Fight it. Sue the Government for all it can. You have to fight for your rights in this country. You are guaranteed nothing!thumbs down

The son of hockey coach Ted Nolan...Brandon Nolan was denied access to Canada via Canadian Customs because they told him he had to pay duty on the care he was driving which was his fathers and not his!!!!!!!

Brandon is a resident of Canada...wa sent back to U.S. Customs who told him everything was in order and there was no reason for his denial!!!!!!! Brandon called a friend of his at another Canada Customs border and they let him through!!!!!!!

Apparently some of these customs officers think they can get away with anything...Brandon did just what I suggested to you...Got a lawyer..went to the media and the officer who refused him is now under investigation...Oh and cause Brandon is Native the officer was also making racial remarks too about crossing at one of the few borders crossed mainly by Native people in Ontario!!!!!!!!

Then she was most likely being search under the suspicion of being a “Mule” (drug carrier who has the drugs inserted into their body) and was to embarrassed to tell you that is why she was held and searched…
