YOU came onto this thread and SOLICITED opinions and advice especially from those of us stateside and now you want to hurl insults and make inflammatory statements???

Read the answers for what they are since we are all answering and operating from our own personal standpoints some of the answers may not be to your liking or of the calibur you were expecting, but we are at least humoring you and giving you the benefit of any response at all.

The least you could do is to show a bit of gratitude and not mockery and insult.

I am very sorry that peoplehere have taken personl exception to my pots. I was not having a pop at people ;some of my best friends are from the US and they know who they are.

I was trying to highlight an unfair syytem and the fact that "little people" cannot react.

Whilst I cannot attempt to speak for everyone here, I myself find that I am ashamed of the president that my country has elected. People are subjected to airport harrassment, illegal search and detainment and the government says it is all in the name of safety.

I understand your utter frustrations on behalf of your friend, but being part of the community of "little people" I myself am at a loss as to how to respond or offer assistance. I do the best I can to understand each individual post, but this one is truly out of my realm. I suggested going to the US Embassy, although I don't know what particular satisfaction can be offered via that route.

I hope your friend receives far better treatment in the future and please don't let one bad experience marr your opinoin of ALL Americans. Some of have no other choice but to sit back idly watching the Idiot of the Free World leading us down a path to doom and destruction. I know I myself cannot wait till the next election!!!!

Dear sir
I beleive maybe what happened to your friend was because of the way she answered the questions asked from costom officers in the airport she entered. Now on days these officers have to be really careful a bout the big duty they have and that is asking questions from turists and what and how those turists answering those. It is a hard time and I am certain no officer doing any thing because they personally dont like some body or some thing like that and they just taking care of their job. A friend of mine from Denmark also a woman with no convections what so ever was entering us a bout a year a go and when asked some questions she made fun of being a terrorist and caring bombs and she thought that she was being funny and that the officer looked good so she wanted to "flirt" a little! Poor woman was taken to a room and questioned for hours and after that they oppologised her wished he a good day and told her not ever making jokes a bout matters which are too serious to make jokes a bout. This friend of mine was upset but we had a long talk and finally she could understand the matter deeply and accepted that this is a hard time for any body and if we not accepting the huge responsibility the costom officers in the airports of usa have and just like you know get angry a bout that or making a joke or talking a bout our frustrations to an officer whose job is for the first taking care of America and for the second being sure a bout whom is entering the country then things can go wrong. I was asked many questions too when entering America and actually I found it a kind of safe and pleasant because why not? It is a difficult job in deed to be a costomer officer in the states. We are talking a bout a country where still showing hospitality to europeans as example by giving them a visa for three mounts right at the airport even America is treatend unfortunatily every day by dangerous people whom can be from any where ....really! With all respect please calm down if possible and ask more a bout the content of the conversation between your friend and the officers and then maybe some where you will be able to see what really happened. I am totaly sure those officers were just taking care of their duty and nothing else. Just imagine.....those terrorists came to usa as turists and students and so on right before 9.11.2001 and what did they do after that? It is a hard time for all of us please be patience and please accept some waiting time and some questions and searching and so on and be sure all this is because of your own safty too. Also in UK they ask many questions when some one enters and i say a gain why not??
