you have to do something to the switches, then enter the room and do something there, and then you will know which switch lights the bulb.

The answer lies somewhat in physical properties...

ok, while you figure than one out, i have a lighter one availiable, to lighten things up a bit:

You are driving in a car at a constant speed. On your left side is a drop off (The ground is 18-20 inches below the level you are traveling on), and on your right side is a fire engine traveling at the same speed as you. In front of you is a galloping horse which is the same size as your car and you cannot overtake it. Behind you is another galloping horse. Both horses are also traveling at the same speed as you. What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?

Have a great Sunday!

Mmm I don't know...

dunno

Just firing my thoughts:

You turn two switches to the ON position and go into the room. If the bulb isn't on then it means it's the other switch that is the right one. If the bulb does come on....(which means it heats up after a few minutes), then the right switch gets warm too??

dunno sigh

the problem here is that the switches are OUTSIDE of the room, so even while you right on your approach, you cannot go back out and check wich switch is warm... you need to know when you go in the room exactly which switch lights the bulb!

BUT head banger

you are on the right path, almost there... what else heats when you turn a switch on...? the right switch on...? professor

You turn ONE switch on for several minutes.

You then turn that switch off and turn another on.

You enter the room.

If light is on you know it is that switch.

If light is off and bulb warm it is first switch.

If light is off and light bulb cold it is the third switch.

ok? thumbs up
