Does this happen a lot? Why can't people realize that most fundimental beliefs in ALL religions are the same and that as long as you live a honest life the title of your religion shouldn't matter? Feel free to share your stories.

That's cause they are taught to love God first, then put there mate and children last.

Have to say I agree with you on that.Personally I don't care what a persons beliefs are,like u said,as long as you lead an honest life........
I've made friends with Sikhs,Muslums,Catholics and many others,never had any problems.Guess it depends on how srtongly the person feels.

I think you have it all wrong. It isn't religion or the belief in a superior being that comes between people, it is the church. If there is a god, which I doubt, I think the last thing he/she/it would want is to come between 2 people in love. Doesn't that go against everything you ever learned about god?

I was "talking" to this guy once, and we got on the subject of religion, which I don't usually ever talk about......and so I told him that I don't believe in god......and he paused.....said he couldn't talk to me anymore because I was going to hell.......and that was the last of him........

Being a Christians is about love...Love your neighbor...the love chapter, for God so loved. Part of the Christian faith is not to "mix yolk"...it's a complicated scripture and I'll have to find more on it...but that may be the answer to your question. Religion isn't what's important...it's follwing God's will which is clearly written out in the bible...hope I clarified a bit!
