The God we created is that very tall man with long hair and beard and flowing hippy garment, and he is perpetually lit up with neon lights, and he only listens when you speak in a Special Voice with words you don`t normally use, in a tone of grovelling, and you usually always asking for something, and making grand promises you got no intention of keeping anyway.... and leaving out all the nice swear words that you usually use quite a lot of, and your mind is all pure and clean and you not thinking any bad things cause He can read your mind.

The one you see in the mirror is the one you take out drinking with you, and who falls down in the gutter and pukes all over itself, and swears like a trooper, gives a thirsty dog a drink of water, tries to do the Right things and usually does the Wrong things, the one who goes surfing or bike riding with you, or sightseeing, or star-gazing, or mud-wrestling, gets into fights, steals from others ..... Is just a normal human being.

To perpetuate our own myth of Living Forever, we have to believe in something.... like hedging your bets?
And Spiritual people are generally more healthy and contented sort of folk anyway ....

I would not like to be guilty of putting God into a box designed by me ... I rather let Him/Her stay out in the Universe ... where I can see them amongst the stars....
