I find myself doing the same thing at times, not sending an email, or making an initial contact, due to my self inflicted buts. Partially its shyness, partially not feeling my self worth at a given point in time, other times I get right past the buts.

For instance, I have dated a girl and have also seen many of my friends who are women say they would never think of getting married.
Guess what happens, they get married soon after making these statements. And no I didn`t ask any of them to marry me.
It`s just that things can and do change from day to day.
Sometimes I think the profiles are a description of an Ideal date or mate.
A wish list if you will. Just because one or two things on the wish list do not match, doesn`t mean she will not find you to be everything she can expect.
