(these are general statements and, except one place, are not directed at any one member)

There are two issues in this thread.
1) posting scam reports in the forums and
2) private arguments between members being played out in the forums.

The two issues are getting mistakenly connected in this thread and cause-and-effect are getting lost. But both type of threads are being removed from the forum BECAUSE they are causing paranoia and suspicion here – NOT for any other reason.

Several threads have been started accusing various men of being scammers. General awareness info about scam (similar to the info on the site scam pages at and at ) is good. But in many cases the scam threads became attention-getting accusations, insults and belittling of men in general, or of men from different cultures who are seeking marriage, as is their custom. OF COURSE we want to prevent scam - there are warnings posted everywhere on the site about it. A scam letter that one person receives may affect many others. But staff cannot deal with problems they are not aware of. Scam cases you post in the forum and do not report draws attention and causes mistrust, but does not get rid of the scammer. Hillbilly, although we applaud all efforts to prevent scam, we have written to you about this several times, but we have NEVER even once gotten a report from you. Shouldn't reporting scammers to the site staff be the first thing you do when you are fighting scam?

Be aware that "dating" is very different in some cultures, nonexistent in others. In most cultures that are represented here, dating is a more lengthy process used to get to know a prospective mate to help decide if you are compatible enough to commit. In others, dating is bypassed and marriage is sought directly. You don't need to agree or approve of either method, but when you are dealing with people from all over the world, you DO need to understand. You are not obligated to respond to them, but at least do not publicly insult or belittle the differences. And if you don’t want to receive mail from certain parts of the world, you can change your mail preferences on your Edit Profile page.

Many of you have been sent the following info:

If you receive questionable mail or have a scam report to make, you need to send it to staff at Contact Us, NOT post it in the forums where there is no one to deal with it.

It is against the rules to post cut and paste mail in the forums.

It is important to deal with scammers as soon as possible to keep anyone else from receiving their mail, and to show scammers that they cannot get away with operating here.

When a scam report is sent to Contact Us it is reviewed and dealt with right away.

When mail is copied and pasted into a forum thread and not reported, it is Gossip.

I leave it up to each angel to turn in the scammer or fakes,and Iam hearing from them they are.So angels no more posting names or emails we discuss in mail and whe you find out the one you have took on is a scammer turn it over to cs.But I want to say to the cs angels great work,I know that you have found several thus making us more determined not to have to ever sacrifice your heart or your money,but most of all your piece of mind.

The other issue in this thread
2) There are apparently private arguments going on here and affecting the forum. Staff will not intervene in private arguments between members and it is not staff’s place to judge who is right and who it wrong in private arguments. This forum is not a stage for you to expose or play out private problems you have with each other, nor a place for you to get even with each other for past or imagined offenses. Threads of this kind are removed. Members who bring their private arguments to the forum and cause trouble here, may BOTH be removed, no matter who causes or starts it. The constant bickering and accusing creates an unfriendly, angry environment in the forum, which keeps other members from posting and having fun.

The bottom line here is tolerance and respect..
-Respect for the site and the rules… there are ALWAYS good reasons for staff actions, they do their job whether it is popular or not.
-Respect for each other.. everyone is welcome and has a right to be here
-Respect for diversity...people are here from all over the world, seeking the SAME THINGS (love, friendship) in DIFFERENT WAYS.

So:
-Read site info on scam and use common sense and caution. NEVER send money. Report scam through Contact Us where it can be dealt with – not in the forums.

-Keep private arguments in private – not in the forums

-Don’t be paranoid. If someone crosses you, or if your thread or post gets removed, it’s not part of a big plot to get you banned or in trouble. Threads that cause a bad environment or add to current forum problems are removed at staff discretion. Stop blaming someone who you assume has reported you (and probably hasn't) – that’s a great excuse, but NO one else causes trouble for you… YOU do that yourself. Staff decisions are impartial. Being impartial is easier when you’re not involved. Step back and try it sometime.

-Lighten up! When you find yourself getting over-serious and over-involved with problems in the forums.. take a break. Use the forum and all site features as they are intended – tools to get acquainted.

-Grow up! You need to be over 18 years old to be a member here. Stop bickering, blaming and complaining. High school is over.

-Think about it. Over and over we keep hearing how “things are not like they used to be”, that all your old friends are gone, etc., etc. Where is this mysterious “used to be”? You said the same EXACT thing yesterday, and last month, and last year, and 3 years ago. And those “old friends that are gone” are the same EXACT ones you fought the same way with in the past.
Act responsibly NOW and tomorrow. The past is over...
