It's only normal to either see a pic or see the person on cam before you meet.I prefer the cam personally........tired of people not being the ones in the pics.
Well it depends on how long you two have been chatting and if you have asked her a few times already and she keeps coming up with excuses then I would just be honest with her and tell how you feel.
I don't blame you either. I have had that happen before. Where the person would keep finding excuses about sending me a pic and finaly I just told them I was not interested and even if then they would have sent a pic by that time I would not have even believed if it was their real pic or not since they took so much time to send it.
Just tell her what you told us. Hopefuly she has a valid reason and sends you one and the real her very soon too!!

she does not own a digital cam, and I presume does not have access to one....
we enjoy to chat with each other, but I cannot get past the pic thing!

My poor brother had that happen to him once. Had met this girl online and they chatted for quite awhile. She did produce a pic of her and he even asked how recent it was and she said it was like a month or so recent. Well he meets her to see a movie and low and behold she was totaly opposite. Not even close to her pic.
Now the nice guy my brother is lol went on to watch the movie but came home straight after and told her to bug off after lol
You can never be too careful and that is also why I prefer meeting someone in a public place too just to be sure.

I don't have a digital camera either but I always find a way. She should have no excuses in my opinion. She can get a disposable camera and when get the pics finished either ask for a photo CD or scan them on a scanner (and if she doesn't have a scanner she can go to any home depot or Staples and places like that) That is what I do.
at walmart or prob other places...when you get pics developed they put them onto cd-rom...cheap and cheerful usually.....maybe she is a technical new person like me lol lol...maybe she just doesn't know this Scott....tell her maybe? not sure....hope it all works out!
A person without a posted pic, may be able to send you one.....my problem is after I send it some people no longer communicate with me....could that be the case, in your case I mean?

If it's as a relationship - I want to see a picture sooner rather than later. I would say if she can't find a way to post or send a pictue within one month - then it becomes friends only.

Some people remain anonomous out of fear of being recognized by friends or co-workers, but if she is interested in stepping across the line from checking out the site to actually meeting someone then a photo is a must.
Hey I am patient! If fate will have it then I guess we'll see. I will not meet someone without their pic now for sure, though. One time is enough for that experience!

Well if not having a picture makes you write someone off .... I have doubts about how truly you are into this person. If you are serious about making contact - simply go ahead and set up a meeting. You will know your answer then and if she's not attractive enough for you, then cut it short and move on. Of course, looks are only a part of attraction as well - personality plays a much larger part.
If she doesn't want to meet - then I'd probably move on because if its been quite some time already that you've been corresponding - she's probably not ready to take it any further - so stop wasting your time.

of course there are the usual reasons....she's really big or she's really pretty. I don't want her to post it publicly, I would just like one so that I know who I am talking with! ...that's not too much to ask is it? she has re-assured me that I will get a picture soon anyway...

My question is, how long should I wait for a pic before writing this off as wasted time and effort? ....she seems really nice, but text as you know is in the eye of the beholder! I have told her I will not meet her until I get a recent picture of her (been there, don't do that) so I want your opinions please!
