WHEN WE EXPERIENCE 'CONNECTION' WHAT R WE EXPERIENCING?? ( Archived) (8)

I have a number of times through my life experienced 'connections' with people, and not always on a romantic level either.. what do u thing the origin of these are? Is it spiritual, psychological, physical.. any theories?

Similar molds? Reverberations of thought developed through shared experience? Expressions of similar desire? Pure physical attraction? Perceived equality? Common goals and needs? Potential gap filling in development (both ways of course)?

Mmmm...I'm inclined to believe in the psychological elements as the determining factor here, although all could play a part ultimately.

I suppose, if all of those elements DID coalesce, you'd have yourself a soulmate par excellence!

Outlook...mutual comfort in sharing personal thoughts...sense of humour...maybe even a sort of creative tension?

Affinity is a strange, multi-faceted thing...I need to admire people and respect certain elements of their being.

Happens VERY rarely for me!

There seem to be different levels of connection

But the magic occurs when you connect on all levels from the mind to the heart and soul. If there is chemistry added then it is the truest connection.

I recently met someone who I connected with on everything, it was instant and strong.... unfortunately when we met, there was absolutely no chemistry and the rest was not important after that....

We might remain friends, but no hope for a long term connection without chemistry.

So I believe it is mind, heart, soul and science............lol a potent mix.

I believe it's a pychological recognition of commonalities

Of course there is an olfactory component which is fading fast in our society as well. With the scents from our environment staining our personal smell and ability to smell, along with all the masking balms we have become fixated with this is quickly becoming a lost art, when it was merely a subconscious factor at its best. A tactile component is also prevalent but can be triggered and manipulated with desire. Auditory sensation can create impressions in the heart as well. But here on CS there is a much more plaintive cry for the heart and soul mixed and served by the brains of the erstwhile. All triggered by the visual which draws us close enough to hear each other.
Visual is likely first...(hence the pics and ratings and such...)
Verbal and all it entails is next (through chat, forum, blog, email etc...)
Auditory (through telephone, Skype and other cam options...)
Tactile and Olfactory are the least obvious and require contact.
The psychological and spiritual mediums are blended into all of the above and seek the hardest through their use of all available agents.
Yet there remains an intangible and unexplained portion which drives us deeper when one or more senses may call a halt to the entire exploration. 4 to 10% of the brain in use as we know it but the other 90-96% is working we just fail to conceive of how or why. The human existence is plagued with change and as creatures of adaption we grow and develop with the change to keep current with its acceleration. Gall Bladders for instance produced vital fluids required for proper use of raw meat, but as our diets have changed with our needs and abilities this organ is dwindling and obsolete. The brain has maintained it's mass for some as yet unknown purpose clearly required for existence and the propagation of the species. Therein lies the intangible mystery that collects and holds all other feelers on course or perhaps the course is already laid and the rest drive us to finish an internal need.
