So in answer to your original question, which I kinda lost sight of in reading this whole thread, no, don't use the word in your profile. If that's who you are, they'll figure it out soon enough. One second thought, maybe you should use it and save the poor women some time. laugh

Just because you are "married" to your opinion doesn't mean you can't be open to someone else's. It's when you feel yours is the only one or try and force it upon people that creates a problem.

It doesn't matter if you include the word "opinionated" in your profile OR not. As no one takes any notice of profiles anyway laugh

Being opinionated is not necessarily a bad thing, no. But don't forget that chances are the person reading your profile doesn't know you at all. This may be viewed as a negative aspect to your personality. As an initial promotion of your character, its probably not the best way to maximise a positive reception from the reader...??

If my memory serves me correctly, some time ago, you posted on a thread about how members were perceived by how they posted on the Forums and you used an analogy akin to an "interview" situation, i.e. "selling oneself" in the most favourable light...?? Therefore, I think you surely know the answer to your own question??

Good to see ya, love!! cheers

That's what I meant by married to, not being open to others' opinions. Feeling yours is the only one and trying to force it on others is sorta the connotation of the word to me.

I do have some opinions that to me are not open for debate, but I always let others have theirs also. I may not agree, but I don't have to, and by the same token, they don't have to agree with me either.

Agree with alabamabebe. having opinions = good. Being opinionated = not open to listening to others and changing if needed. Maybe on your profile you need to word it right..... Unless opinionated describes you. laugh laugh laugh
