Do you just go for something ear-catching without knowing what the lyric's about?
Do you care if the lyric's any sense or any sequence of matching words is okay?
Would you rather have an instrumental going on?

LOL, misinterpreted the headline again! Thought that it was going to be an announcement that Music Cd's now come in flavours! Strawberry, Cinnamon, Orange...actually not a bad concept; I'm sending the idea off to Japan...%D

I think lyrics are a very important part of good music.Instrumental music can be wonderfull, and I allways enjoy it. But if there are words, they should be something that makes sense and bring some message to me!

I think both lyrics and music are important in any piece of music. But, I must admit, there are some instrumental pieces by Pink Floyd that actually do bring tears to my eyes. : ) peace

Oh! Pink Floyd - Surely, Marooned from The Division Bell's one of those that I vision quite picturesque.

Then from a different style, Jean Michel Jarre's electronic music is another great one.

Vangelis - so many movie soundtracks that if anyone was a movie enthusiast it would be impossible not to link those tracks with an image.

The 70's psychedelic era's full of instrumentals, Camel is one hell of a group in that era.

Give me words any day. Add to that a voice that makes you listen to it completely. Does not need to be a technically great singer but the whole package being words, voice and vibe just reaches out and thrusts some form of emotion and feeling at you like a ton of bricks.

It's a sweet feeling, turning out the lights and playing tunes that just rip out your insides leaving you completely mind f****d.

Wow, that's what I always say... I know good music when I hear it!

As half or maybe more of the music I listen to is instrumental, I usually do not give preference to lyrics, and I love to listen to each instrument in a band or an orchestra. But I also love good voice and lyrics that make sense and leave a trace in my soul...

Yes, and despite liking Rock'n Roll beaty stuff, I thoroughly enjoy attending live symphonic orchestra performances ....... the tuning up, the entrance of the conductor, and then the escalation as the entire orchestra combines to make music, from that, to me, motley assortment of instruments .....Close my eyes and let the sounds roll over me.

That makes the hairs on my arms stand on end!

I'm fairly easy; could be Alice Cooper singing arias from The Barber of Seville, or Jose Carreras singing Chuck Berry...or medieval monks with Gregorian chants, to Baroque Horn concertos...all have their place and time to soothe the savage breast or inspire the nearly dead...%D

Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds is great!

Forever Autumn,
Music.....

Stylewise - I don't fancy Rap, but R&B is okay.
Metal and heavy stuff - no thanks
Trance, Techno, Acid and the new electronika is fine for a short while while doing something repetitive in a jiffy.
