goodfriend: When my mum died it was so unexpected and such a shock and with mum's death being the first ever close family death i was totally devastated, after funeral i used to go to bed at night and play mum's fav song on my personal cd player over and over and cry my heart out,i had been doing this for over a week after funeral and the last time i did it was when playing the song again i heard my mum's voice shouting my name in her stern voice, i stopped immediately, she was scolding me.
My dad died suddenly of an heart attack whist in bed one night when I was 17. Although I never got on with him, cos he was violent and an alcoholic. It was still a big shock professor

Anyhow, the week leading up to the funeral a couple of weird things happened. An egg flew out the pan and hit the ceiling then an ornament on the tv flew at the wall. I was scared to death and so was my poor mother laugh

After the funeral, we got rid of the bed he had died in and shut the bedroom up. The house had a weird feeling and the bedroom was always cold and I never dare stay on my own in that house again. We couldn't settle after that so moved out after 1 year.

9 years later after my mother died, my sister told me my mother had seen ghost of my dad on landing of the house he'd died in. But, she never mentioned it to me so as not to scare me. Dunno if it was true or not as I couldn't ask my mother and my sister can be a lying cow, so guess I'll never know for sure laugh

Blimey, it must have been a shock for you though when you heard your mothers voice bouquet

Zellarrone1: Hey Mike, ah I thought I might as well add on to this one, I like to see all the old faces in the threads You will have to write your ghost story on here as long as memory of it doesn't scare you too much

Hi Helga of Hull wave
It's not that it scares me to tell it in public after all this time. The CS lounge IMO is too public so again IMO it would better if it were related to only those people interested who are not cynical about such 'inexplicable' phenoma.

Thsnks anyway
Prost wine Mike

When I was younger, my family and I used to live over in America. We used to go on road trips to visit my grandmother. I remember as a child visiting her and her friend. I used to spend hours talking to her friend. One day, my grandmother saw me talking to someone.... but there was nobody there... but, when my grandmother asked me who i was talking to, my answer caused her to go pale... she left... returned moments later with a newspaper... holding it in her hands she asked me what he looked like... when i told her, she replyed, he deid a long time ago.. he isnt here anymore, then she bent down and handed me the paper... it was a picture of her friend.... he had died in her house many years before she had ever lived there. he had accutly fallen thro the stairs and died..... From that moment on I never saw him again....

Was the apparition clothed or just a shadow though? My friend says she saw one with a bright luminous green jacket and checked trousers on. So, obviously he didn't have a very good dress sense laugh wave

I have smelt a ghost. When I was 12 my elder brother returned to live at home and we prepared a room for him which used to be my grandmothers until she passed away about a year previously. When he arrived at the house, my mother and I took him to the new room and my Nana's smell suddenly engulfed the room for 20 secs or so. We all experienced it. It was wonderful, we all smiled with either a tear in our eye or a lump in our throats.

wave Hi Nana .... sorry, but you did wiff a bit. rolling on the floor laughing angel heart wings

Haha, I sometimes work in an old victorian building on my own that's near the sea and used to be used by smugglers uh oh I sometimes smell smoke and cigar smoke, it happened last night again help yet no one smokes there and it's a no smoking ban anyway. It smells strongest in a pantry cupboard so maybe a smugglers spirit got trapped there or something laugh I spend my time in there always looking over my shoulder rolling on the floor laughing
