What are the things on a date that let you know you never want to date the person again? For example, on my last date the guy took a phone call during dinner. He said, "Sorry, my phone rings all the time. Whoever I'm with is just going to have to get used to that." The date was over for me. How about you?

Never had a shocker...can't complain.

Too much chat about ex partners is never a good idea though...I find that very tiresome.

Also, if she's poorly groomed.uh oh

I didn't mean for the thread to be that serious -- I was talking about casual dating vs. relationships. Didn't mean to offend.

bajanblue: I don't HAVE TO get used to anything. Especially not rudeness. I take it he is not a neurosurgeon on call?

Nope...that I would have understood. Maybe I take myself too seriously and expect to be the center of attention. Maybe that's the problem.

I do come with a disclaimer -- difficult, high maintenance, men don't seem to mind as much as they say they do. It's kind of like ice cream, we all know it's probably going to be bad for us, but we eat it anyway.

That 'wanting kids' bit, is on profiles too. I don't think it's inappropriate to ask at any stage of the relationship/friendship, of intentions of making a family, in future ( be it with me or someone else...lol). When a woman asks, doesn't necessarily mean she wants to have a baby, in a 'still fresh' relationship.
But, i guess you meant something more serious, like; "take off your clothes and let's make one now grin?

I personally want to know ( from the word go), if a man intends to have a family (someday). If he doesn't, then i'm super
I can be sure that, if it works out someday, i'm only required to talk him into taking me out dancing, not having kids. help

I don't mind a mustache -- I would mind if his dinner was dripping off his mustache all night long!

You never get what you want in life unless you ask for it. I don't think there's a problem with being upfront. I'll take an honest b---ch over a sneaky bas-ard any day of the week.

I was on a lunch date once and the guy said he had a meeting he had to get to and left me at the restaurant. I had to call a cab to get back to work. Then he called the next day for another date. Chivalry may be dead.

Detente: Honesty is all....especially over such issues.

Delusion is common however...

Good point -- For example....I know he's never held a job in his life, but I can change him! I know so many girls who do that!

Or, she's really hot and a big flirt, but once she's with me I'll be the ONLY one. Yeah, ok.

Seriously, I like men who are driven, ambitious, Type A (like me). So I have a lot of horror stories from that dating pool. When those men are on, they're incredible. But when they're not, they can be complete jerks.

And I unfortunately, am the same way....so sometimes I can be incredible and sometimes I can be a complete jerk.laugh
