^^^^Same here, but do read profiles hehe.

I spent a couple of hours running through a couple of "dating websites" and the consistant theme was
1) Either no info or a "I dont know what to write here"
2) Loving, generous & all the fluffy stuff both sides put in
3) badly composed photos or none at all
as deep and thoughtful as we all like to think we are, a photo says more than any amount of words.

But the other day, I cam across a lady who was blunt to the point of rude.

One of the questions that the site asked was
"If someone was to contact you, give them a question that they could answer to get the ball rolling"

Fair enough ...
But this woman had written (words to the effect of)
"The is an oxymoron. If you dont have the social skills to conduct yourself in a correspondance environment, then why should I waste my time answering these stupid questions?

I thought,
"Well that is a fair point, but there had to be a better way of phrasing it"

Another one that caught my eye, was another brutally honest woman, who wrote
"I am the most imperfect woman you have ever met.
I have been thrown out of the produce department of our local store for juggling the fruit, when I wake up, I burp, fart, scratch my bits, and clean out my ear wax with a cotton bud."
He entire profile was like this, and it was all said with tongue in cheek
By looking at the photos, she was a physically attractive woman, and must have had a few "hits" on her profile.

It was just a refreshing change ... quite a funny one too

Some of the profiles certainly are interesting...I have to admit, I got turned off my profiles that really didn't list anything at all (i.e. big blank spaces), and although I do give picture-less ones a chance, I tend to browse through the ones with pics more often. Humor definitely should be conveyed through the profile...lol. And like you joovist and festis, I also didn't really expect much of overseas people and tended to look at what was available in Austria. However, now I got a cutie that is half-way around the world from me! LOL.
