You are probably closer to it than the rest of us. I was in Zagreb a few weeks ago. Compared to prices in Germany, Croatia was not as cheap as I had hoped/expected. It's a bit cheaper than here. I can't remember the exchange rate and didn't go to any supermarkets--was only there 3 days. I always use LONLELY PLANET travel guides and recommend them, especially if you are backpacking around instead of just going to one destination. They will tell you everything. You can get it from Amazon if it's not available where you are. Have fun.dancing

I don't know much about politics anywhere....complicated? they are all about equally complicated--I find Germany more complicated than most, actually--I'm a little too lazy and sloppy and confused for these rigorous people. Here, the cleaning product which is called "Mr. Clean" in the States is called "Mr. Proper."roll eyes Impermeable? I get along and am reasonably comfortable everywhere; people are usally always pretty nice, and helpful, to me--I was in China a long time ago, that was probably the most difficult. But the people were helpful because I was with a Chinese friend and her friends and family helped me a lot. cheers

but buses are cheap, you may travel with people caring fresh fish. I remember that to avoid this i simply addressed a young good looking german and asked him to sit with me...

well as a Resident I could give ya some pointers:

what ever province you enter there is a Tourism board, there you acn get all info of the province:

for exchange rate there is a website called

The Rockie mountain is a definate must but tends to be a little expensive for a traveler unless the locals give you some ideas, geust houses exist and are around 28 dollars a night and up. best bet, or smply rent a room from any of the local papers cheapest depending on your budget, I can assist in any questions as I have been around the country, you can web search for any supermarket in canada, cost me as a single person around 100 to 150 to live a month food wise, Resteraunt meals are 6 dollars and up so mid is 8 bucks unless ya get a 2 pissa slice and pop for lunch $3.50 cdn, for Euro to Canadian loot you will be more than ok, best ways out of an airport is by shuttle if staying at a hotel, City bus is very good and there is Long Distance bus from Calgary airport to Rocky Mountains, definately Trains are a good deal, but not as fast as the Euro or Jap Trains..
