Over here we,ve got one of the worst safety records in Europe, I think Greece is worse.

I have seen it all here. One day saw a guy towing a sofa with a motor scooter. Best of all was his mate was sat on the sofa and it was swaying from one side of the road to the other. Amazing.

plus a dog. Seen that too.

Lithuania is the absolute leader in the EU when it concerns the number road deaths, and Latvia comes next. The roads are good in Lithuania, compared with our neighbouring countries, and the drivers are not so bad... most deaths happen at night on country roads where people ride bicycles without any special signs or lights, and local people walk in the middle of a narrow road, they have no idea about how to be safe on the road... Driving at the lowest speed is a challenge there because you never know who will suddenly appear in the middle of a dark road!

Yes, the people in the South of Europe love speed more than elsewhere... and here we have irresponsible farmers who seem to forget that road traffic even deep in the countryside is not only horse driven carts... many horses die on the roads, too, and cause accidents even on our high speed roads because these cart drivers want to cross the road with cars running at 130 km/h in four lanes where they like! They do it every day somewhere... crazy people!

Hey!¬ I swear by God....back in 1972 I had FIVE women on the back of my Vespa going from Corfu town to Paleokatristrsa......on my word as an Englishman!
