"I am living a dream and you're making it happen :D kisses" she texted him.

"You are the best thing that ever happened to me!" she told him when they next met.

She never told him that she loved him.

That would have been a lie.

She didn't love him.

She prided herself on being truthful - even though sometimes she didn't know the truth when it was staring her in her face!

He threw her keys down on her table. He was upset and couldn't understand her coldness towards him. It was gone 10.30 at night.

They arranged to speak the next evening on the telephone.

"I shall speak to you at exactly nine p.m." she informed him.

He rang.

Two minutes later he heard a ring. He assumed it was a telephone. She had let somebody into her appartment.

"I've never been alone for long in my life" she had told him when they first met.

"I understand that our relationship is over" she said to him in her clipped, cold voice.

"Yes" he said.

She turned and smiled at her old lover whom she'd just let back in.

It was 9.05 p.m.

"I've never been alone for long in my life" he heard her say from the past.

It wasn't even 24 hours.

Some people cannot bare to be alone for long.

They are often the loneliest people in the world.

Her old lover was upset and angry.

He knew he could never ever trust her again. He hated himself for loving her. He knew she wasn't worth it. He knew she'd kick him out of her life again, but he wanted to make love to her again so he stayed.
