If there are any nearby parks, you could go there (most of them are free to utilize & have little grills) and let the kids play and run around... bring some hot dogs or burgers to grill... or if you have a back yard that would enable you to have a little bonfire, you all could roast marshmallows, & such......

I'll be playing with rocks over the weekend....and no...not diamonds...lol
Have some river rock being delivered in the morning...3 - 6 inch size...about 2 yards worth....making like a dry creek bed at the side of the carport where the rain runs off. If I have enough it's also going along the new (old) fence.
