Portiea: I thought you were being funny about needing to be hypnotized to post on CS......if I were reading a book called the practical guide to hypnosis, I'd keep falling asleep too....not much of a plot to keep the tension going, I'd think... Not my kind of book....

It's a great book on hypnosis. It has all sorts of hypnotic remedies in it. I got it to cure my insomnia - and it workedlaugh

Lagoona22: Heart of darkness....Joseph Conrad
Out of Africa - Isak Dinesen
Everything by Dale Carnegie
The Road Less Travelled - M. Scott Peck

It's all a bit dated but I hardly read anything more than the Herald Tribune these days....

You probably know this Lagoona: Isak Dinesen is a Pseudonym for Karen Blixen, the head person in Out of Africa. And yes, she`s a damned good writer. Not trying to sound educated but since she is danish and I am as wellhug wave

Kitty

I read everything Karen Blixen ever wrote when I was in my 20's.
Short stories...... Damn!!! good writer - one of the best I've ever read, imo......

Back then it was the likes of Herman Hesse, Sartre, Beckett, Chekhov, Isak Dineson and E.M.Forster for me. Also read some Joseph Conrad.
Then later on it was Kundera and Marquez.
Now it's mostly Taschen art books and books on the subject of happiness..... but rarely.... sigh
Can't wait to see what I'll be reading in 10 years time uh oh sigh uh oh
Hope CS is still around!! laugh laugh laugh
