For me it all depends on the person. Sometimes I have chatted on IM and e-mailed them alot and at other times we spoke on the phone after a few e-mails. Sometime it has to do with my gut feeling as to what method I use.... The one thing I have learned to listen too is my own intuition..... If in doubt then take it slow.....

I'll email ........ sometimes more sometimes less depending on the vibes. Rarely do IM or chat and its almost like pulling teeth to get me on the phone! Yikes = no wonder I'm still single. Truly I'm just alot more cautious about opening up to people - been hurt too many times and it seems that people forget that we are real behind these computer screens - we seem so disposable.
I'm looking for someone who's willing to truly take the time and effort to get to know me, understand me, tell me the truth whether I really want to hear it or not ............. just be totally real and upfront.

Well for me I'm outgoing people person.But I pay close attention to what is said.And I listen to what people have to say be it in forum or in chat.At least they do get fighting chance.Email a lot?

I am surprised, Langley. To me, email is good in the beginning, but after a while I do like to move on to chat. Chatting is more like a conversation and you can see how someone communicates without them having time to stop and think about it.
Later, a phone call every now and then, because I like to know what their voice sounds like... and because I want to know that I can call when I want to - a good indicator that they are single - though not foolproof.

Not sure what your surprised about ............. all I'm saying is that I'm much more cautious than I used to be (bad experiences tend to do that to one) .................. just try to use by head more than my heart - its difficult at times but I think that I've come to the point that people need to gain my trust - its not just freely given anymore.
I will chat with people ................ but I'm not one to talk on the phone constantly (never have been) .... I'd much rather talk in person and I've found that IMing is painful because most people are sloooooooow typers - it drives me nuts! lol
Real life and reality is where I'd like my relationship to flourish and grow ............. the internet is a good way to connect ...... but its very limited.
