I went to Cape Tribulation (FNQ) last year for a week ... it was hot, friendly people, the rain forest was just awesome ... and going out to the Great Barrier reef and snorkelling all day was so cool ... just floating in the big sea amongst coral was fantastic

You must have missed one, I think it washed up quite publicly on the Gold Coast during the seventies.

I am a huge fan of Cairns and a few other places in Queensland. The people, the places, the adventures, the night life, the beaches, the fishing, etc, etc. You can not get bored there and if you do, there is something wrong with you. Otherwise, Kalbarri in Western Australia. Only stayed there one night (just gorgeous) but would love to go back there again some day.

I lived on Cocos Island in the indian ocean for a couple of years when I was young. It was unforgetable. White sand, coconut palms and crystal clear waters. It truely is an unspoilt island paradise. I long to return someday.
Been to a few but i must say the stand out would have to be a little beach called Pantai Sira in North Lombok Indonesia. It was a perfect day, sun, blue sky pristine sandy beach. Palm trees hung over the shallow water, which was warm like a tepid bath. Little fish swam around you as you moved out from shore. A reef offshore stopped big waves, so the water was just lapping...it was crystal clear and sparkling it was just paradise..
