vonney: We never had a good word to say to each other, couldnt be in the same room for more than a few minutes without a row, to alike my Mam said.
Then I found myself alone with 3 young children. I got the chance of a good job but it meant further education as well as working full time, my dad encouraged me to take the job and he looked after my children each day while I worked full time and studied for 2 years, he became my wife lol (his words) looking after the kids, cleaning my house, cooking dinner. Without him I would never have managed to get my diploma, unfortunately he died a month before my graduation ceremony, but he was there in spirit.
jampet: also- driving the long distance in the car, to the far from exotic holiday destinations we went to- he would teach us songs, games, and say stuff like..'what?? NONE of you saw that sign that said..'fish and chips 14 miles'?? just to keep us all quiet for another few minutes! always trying to educate us, in a nice way, like making us ask fr things at the dinner table in french, or making us describe something while sitting on our hands- like a spiral staircase-- try it, it's not easy LOL. my dad was not a 'huggy kissy' type of guy, and I don't ever remember hime saying ' I love you' to us, but thank you for making me remember those things and realise that, inside , he truly did love us

ah...when me and my brother were kids, he was always warning us never to get dirty...of course
the punishment was a hard shower, whereby we cried so badly because he was exhagerating on scrubbing us that it was so painful! That's how we kept ourselves as cleaner as possible

My dad's been gone for 12 years now - but I still consider myself hid little girl - I was very much a daddy's girl - we had a special bond only fathers and daughters know. I miss him every day - I LOVE YOU DAD!
