do you actually have a record player for them?! i haven't seen one in years but i did see a replica for one in cahersiveen ireland, it was pretty cheap too! i would build a book shelf for them, they are rare, damn we sound old old old, thanks ship
Nope, sorry don't have any extra cash to loan ya - my car is being repaired, so I'm pretty much tapped out atm.
Anyway, can you build or buy a little shelving unit for them? Maybe you could even find a real cheap one at a yard or garage sale. My uncle has a ton of those old LPs, also - they are in superb condition, for being so old.

That's what my ex used to say!! would love to build shelves to cover one wall...but I rent and landlord hates me even hanging curtains, she doesn't want holes in the wall.
Haha!
Okay then, here's another idea... you could put them in a file folder type book thingy (are you with me?), ya know - with the pocket/sleeve inserts. Or purchase an appropriate size photo album, and slide them in there...
You wouldn't need to put any holes in the walls if you built or bought a unit that is free standing...
BUT!! I was so happy to have my over 300 vinyl LPs back in my hands again!!
There is just something nostalgic about the soft crackle of the scratches on an old LP playing in the background.
But in my place, I have no idea where I am gonna put all these albums!! Then there are the Christmas decorations!! But I do enjoy the old LPs
Anyone else like their old vinal???Oh....for you younger guys. Vinyl was what we had before cassettes, I mean CDs...oops, I mean MP3s
Absolutely! My own collection go from the cylinders by the Edison recording through both 45's of the Rock 'n' Roll years from "53 through the 60's and the LP's covering a lot of categories. The oldest disc is from 1908 the record in one-quarter of an inch thick; Dixie sung by a Mabel Garrison in ...Soprano!!It's bizarre and hilarious.... I'm keeping them and hopefully my children will appreciate them or their values...

Had a couple of 78's....but you know how brittle they were....and I am a clumsy man
shipoker55: my mostprized album is a Jerry Lee Lewis LP that is still in a sealed package. Never been opened. Some other vintage stuff is:
Woodstock
Charles Manson...LIE
countless Bob Dylan
Autographed album...Piano Man, Billy Joel
The Velvet Underground...with Nico Just to name a few
Shouls also mention some vintage Johnny Cash. Including Ride This Train. I don't think there was a single hit on that album, but I think it is his greatest work

Hey Ship do you have Walmart or Ikea where you live? They have storage bookcases or units that have adjustable shelves so that way when and if you decide to move then you can take them with you. In the meantime you can house the beautiful collection of music.
