Well, ok...there has never been a shortage of people predicting the end of the world as we know it, from the guy with a sandwich board on the street corner, to Nostradamus-type wannabees, like this one here:
...who basically maintains that the world will be uninhabitable by 2014....
...my question is, if we assume for a moment that the world WILL end within 6 years, how would you spend the last 6 years of your life on earth. What would you do, what would you change, and when would you quit your job, sell the house, and go on a long holiday on the proceeds...??.....

I've thought about this and, to tell the truth, I don't think I'd bother to change anything at all. A big part of my life has been based on the "tomorrow's another day" thing and I look forward to seeing each new day.
I mean, I could go hog wild (and a lot of people would!) but it wouldn't make any difference in the long run. Those that I care about already know how I feel - I can't make it any plainer - and I like my life. And if I were to go wild and spend everything, do everything, celebrate the end, etc... and then the darn world didn't end, I'd feel pretty damn foolish.
Soooo... I think, on the last day, I'm just gonna' read for a while in the evening, kiss my lovely wife and go to bed. Tomorrow's either gonna' come or it isn't... If it does, I'll be well rested and ready to meet it. If it doesn't, I will have gone off peacefully and with no worries. What better way to go?

I feel the same way about my life. I am contented and happy and take each day as it comes and look after myself sufficiently enough to meet each new day with a smile of anticipation. I don't have a partner but love and appreciate my kids and friends and enjoy the time I spend with them without needing more. If I had a partner he would be included in the love and harmony I have found with the people I appreciate already. So no changes, just more love to share.
