I have just been watching some of the action on ebay. I'm not sure but it appears that people who place an automatic bid days in advance, seem to bid against themselves after a certain period of time when no one else has placed a bid, jacking the price up on themselves.

Am I correct?

it is Called sniping, dear
if it is a hot item make your highest bid and see what happens. Or, depending on the speed ogf your computer, You can bid the very last seconds. Mine takes about 8 to 12 seconds to register

Missed talking to you

This one item I was watching, there were 7 bids in a row made by the same person hiking the bids from
$24.50 to $85.00

Hi Hank wave

Life is good. Currently a bit over worked but that's about to change soon. It's a good thing cuz I'm starting to get cranky!

Hope all is well with you ... still have a band aid on your heart?

I've sold cars, motorcycles, bought cars, motorcycles, and enough parts to make my head swim.

My golden rule is simple. Make up in your mind what you want to pay for something, or what you think would make it a good deal and stick to it. You don't win if you've paid way too much for something.

I don't think that hapens, I think the person that outbids you gets automaticaly out bid by you. So the bid goes up and the same bidder stays at highest bidder. Personaly I do not put a max bid up untill the end of an auction, last few minuits. The last item I bought on ebay I would have paid another $75 for and I think a few other people would have also. But time ran out.

I saw my boss do this on a piece of equiptment for the buisness. We ended up paying $800 for a $3000 piece of equiptment.

This item I am interested in seems very popular right now.

If I wait six months do you think the demand will subside and I might get a better deal or will I no longer be able to find it?

Just decide how much you want to pay and keep bidding on auctions of the same item untill you win one at the price you want to pay. Sometimes its just a couple of people that want the same thing. Let the people willing to pay more than you trickle out by them getting one. They likely will not want two.

The last thing I bought on e-bay I had allready tryed to shop around to get the best price new. I found the best price of $650 and ordered it A few days latter I was told that they did not have that item in stock but for another $250 I could get a better model. I bought the item on e-bay for $550.

Dennis ( that company is still advertising their out of stock item, at least e-bay won't try to screw you,,,,, but you can screw yourself, so be carefull)
