Last Night {protection of the night}

in the morning sunlight hits
all the edges of those dreams
written deep the night before
sunlight closes fast that darkened door
like a shadow dancing live
I vanish when the darkness disapears

where to go and whats it matter
all the magic ceases when you return
painted pictures, canpy wrappers
canvas wet and melted snackers
off to work like dragon slayer
the mind is sure to to make it happen

written lines within the mind
of what a day it might just be
a real life adventure there
into the sun is always set
for those who choose to walk that step
careful now and dont you trip

glitter man of flesh and fear
of candy smiles and rituals
kick the bag and feel the thrill
it really squelches tears
of yesterday and further still
the picture still remains.

glad to fall asleep last night
though I dont know the difference
I just snap a image to the mind
try to keep a closed eye
endure the dream, reacall the joy
the crane, the snap, the dance alone

the mantis, praying for the kill
enduring future bloods that spill.

sleep dep,
wrote a letter didnt send
slept tight,
woke as though they read my rights
walked fast, didnt eat,
heard the blast of my TV
Turned to you as if to say
but then I saw you went away
sun shine,
Walked until I saw the mile
big moon
Loved you in the month of June
right on
right until I found I'm wrong
sit tight
Waiting till we fly a kite.

As we sleep and as the night
is all we have to set things right
Walking to you in the sun
Hope we always have that fun
throw the tv off the deck
at the one who yelled at us
yelled at us beneath the moon
but we just danced that month of June
and though we might not fly that kite
I pray for both of us we might
someday somehow find the time
to feel the love that still lives on.
