The name Angel was actually given to me at my workplace a couple of years back. I work with a lot of terminally ill and chronic children and was sitting with a little boy talking and reading to him till he fell asleep and left. When he woke up he asked all the staff and other children where the Angel went and the name has forever stuck. I also have a very strong love and faith of angels so it was lovely to be bestowed with the gift of that name teddybear

Shoulda read "WaterDragon" as in Chinese astrology but a slip of the finger without proofreading, like Blonde (Hi!).

Also love the lizards - even had one living in the house at Halfway Creek,NSW. He loved green grapes, we'd roll one up to him and he gobble and wait for the next one!

Ralf74: I have wondered about how people come up with their usernames. My name is actually Jodie and my username stems from a nickname I had at school, juvenile, I know but I don't have much imagination. The story goes...I was at a beach party when I was a teenager and had way too many to drink and apparently I was crawling down the beach absolutely heaving my guts up (ralfing) to everyone's amusement. Well word got around school as to what went down and I became the legend at school known as Ralf. I became that famous that most kids didn't even know my real name. I had kids from all year levels coming up to me "hi Ralf" on a daily basis, kids I didn't even know. I have 4 younger siblings so as they progressed through school the legend stuck around for quite a while.

So that is my story, anyone else wish to share?

I have been using this name for about 10 years now. The10thmountaindivision is too long, so I dumbed it down to Da10th. 10th Mountain Division is the unit in which I served in the U.S. Army.

Why only wanna be?

Why not actually become one?

Do you have a manuscript to send out?

If not, write one, if so, send it!

I have so much that I have written...

At the moment I am working on a couple of songs that I have written - recording them locally (for me)

I have a collection of children's stories that I am still 'tweaking' into shape.

Have written numerous plays, several of which I performed in whilst at university.

But have recently begun studying again, so finding it hard to make the time to complete everything!

I'm working and studying as well.

Both my work and my study involve writing.

The nature of the beast called 'art' is that we never have enough time.

If you want to get published, the only way to have that happen is to make it happen.

Every writer owes it to him or herself to do that.

As a writer, you have soomething to say, and on the balance of probability, the world needs to know what it is that you have to say.

So deny the world your words no longer!

My best mate passed away with not a single word of his being published. He never did submit anything.

So in the treasure trove of spare time I cannot spare, I am transcribing his hand-written scribbles into wordprocessed MSs.

I intend to make them up as a book and give them out to his friends. As a tribute and a keepsake.

He had no family and no heirs of any kind, so there is no way of legally marketing his work. It, like all his estate, would all go to the government.

So, please learn from my best mate's experience. Realise that daylight's burning! Get out there and share your lovely words with the rest of us!
