Have you ever travelled to meet someone you met online? ( Archived) (31)

i have meet guys from the net but havent had to travel to far they were pretty close and when i did meet them they were so shy totally diff. than the net

I drove all the way to Tenn one year to meet someone. She lived about an hour south of Nashville and it took me about 23 hours of straight driving. Blew a head gasket on the way down and had to add oil every couple of hours. That car was doing some smoking when I pulled into her driveway. What a disappointing week that was.
Some things she didn't tell me was the fact that she had an oxygen tank in the middle of her mobilehome with a hose that reached each end of the place and needed a portable tank if she went out. She was too possesive for my tastes.
I ended up flying home after taking my car to a garage for repairs planning on returning for it. I kept things going between us during the five months before going back for my car. When I flew into Nashville, a tornado was going thru the downtown area. I left the next morning with my car after saying telling her it was over. Come find out a few days later, a tornado passed within a half mile of her place during that night I was there. This was about 6-7 years ago.
Before I went down I was considering moving there. After meeting her in person and the fact she lived in a moble home within tornado alley, there was no way.

This is just one of two nightmares I have met from the net. Despite it all I just keep on looking :)

I got in the car and drove 700 miles to meet the 'like of my life', that I met online, a few months ago.

It was worth every mile.

She's coming here in January to return the favor...but it's still an LDR. I guess if she and I were both millionaires and could afford to take the next step, potentially we would...but it just doesn't make any sense the way things are in the real world.

I travelled from the UK to meet a girl in maine..had a great time ...stayed for 2 weeks...then went back 6 months later and stayed for 3 months ...helped her to move house ..but i got homesick ...so we ended up parting...

Well, I haven't travelled too far lately to meet mister wonderful...but I most certainly WOULD! The great thing about being a nurse is that there is such a high demand in almost every country....so I guess I am considered to be "mobile"....

I love travelling and adventure anyhow...so even if the guy ended up as a dud...I would have a great time on my own...and everything happens for a reason , right? so maybe I'd run into my perfect guy while I was getting gas for the return trip....

You'll never know if you don't keep your eyes open!
