My worsed eye was operated on first.
Eventhough it is still teary I can read things without my glasses which I hated with a passion.
I have always believed that without glasses I look like Gina Lolobrigida. rolling on the floor laughing
So the precription for that eye has totally changed right?
Was told that for the next four weeks I can use my old glasses.
Yes for both eyes.
It works! But how is this possible?
dunno

Because in your other eye, your vision wasn't affected as much, would be my guess. In other words, that prescription hadn't changed, and so you can still see with them.

look at it like this... you were use to watching TV with a sheet over it..
when you remove the sheet is becomes a very clear picture.

well, you just had a sheet removed.

I can see that point but the presciption should no longer fit.
I am supposed to be able to just have reading glasses only and will
try for contact there.

I recommend it if they think you're a good candidate for it. I had mine done back in 2005 & only need cheater glasses to read (if I'm holding the book close) or doing sometype of close needle work (like crochet or cross stitching). I can read while I'm on the treadmill because it's far enough away & I have a good light for the book. If you can afford it, go for it.
