The fact that I may have had one or two too many glasses of wine last friday night and have committed myself to 2 Christmas parties... one on the 14th before everyone goes off to their families for the holidays and one on Christmas for all the strays staying here without family....

Gifts are just the commercial side of Christmas - not important at all. So I'm glad you are not having sleepless nights wondering what your family and friends are thinking of you.
But, do you HAVE to be by yourself? Can't you go to your family?
