You are absolutely correct in your interpretation and comments about Newfoundland. We are fast becoming a popular attraction for tourists and they all say the same thing...warm and friendly people, wicked sence of humor....let's face it we have to in order to survive the winter here! Our language is rich with idioms that often leave the CFA lost and confused(ummm yea...slang too)...lol not to mention the various accents you will find here. ( I don't think I have one but while in university someone guessed correctly the community I came from just from the way I said a paticular word so I guess I do...lol.

Oh Lilly, in University I hung out with a by from da rock...it was his first trip off da rock..so needless to say I was outta commission for a few days after that...man can you newfs drink! I think my biggest mistake was trying to keep the pace...followed quickly with drinking too much screach for my own good!
But the training session this past weekend at the cottage left me thinking that maybe, just maybe I might be able to drink with ya one day!

Good old Newfanese. Such wonderful and warm people. Newfoundland is one of the two provinces I have yet to visit, but for all you beautiful folk, I hope to see you someday.
