I quit smoking almost a year ago because I believed it would improve my health. How come I have felt lousy ever since.I'd go back and feel like I use to but at 10 bucks a pack I can't afford it.

I know people who have quit for years and say the urge never goes away....Last year I tried Chantix--had every side effect possible and quit taking it although it was starting to work....

I think using stop smoking aids is merely a transfere of addictions...cold turkey is the surest method supported by a strong conviction to your cause

It will take a while for you to feel better man. The lungs will do wonders in repairing themselves, and they will never be like new, but it takes 7 years on average for that process.

How have your eating patterns changed? What often happens is that when someone stops an addiction like smoking, another addiction comes into its place - for most it is eating.

You have to understand that nicotine is a stimulant. Stimulants are designed to make you feel better.

The best thing you can do is monitor your diet, get plenty of exercise, and replace the bad habit you have licked with good habits.

Kudos to you for stopping.

Glad you were able to quit wind. I, myself, do not smoke. However
I have been around smokers all my life, so it doesn't bother me.
But when I get back to my place where no smoking is allowed
I can smell it on the clothes I am wearing and in my hair. I would
like to see my friends and family be able to take what they spend
on cig. each month and put it away and give up the smokes, but,
as I have watched many try, I know it is not that easy.handshake

The temptation to bum, borrow or buy one...just one itsst bittsy cig is ever there. I can not think how many times in a year I have had to tell my self...NO!!!!!!!!!. One smoke and I'm cooked...I know it. Its even harder because in my work a lot of people do smoke and I still like the smell of fresh tobac
