would you do a flat or house swap to have a holiday in a different country it seems to have become very popular as you dont need a hotel would you let someone else live in your home while you lived in theirs

In a word No...

why people all over the world do you get to see countries without the cost of a hotel or is it that you dont trust anybody there is a lot of safegaurds been put in place by the folks that organise this

In a nutshell yes..I don't want strangers 'poking' their noses in to my things...My family(not the same) can come here and stay as long as they want with out me around but a complete stranger..Also you can rent appts./self catering for a reasonable price so you are tied to the hotel eating hours...

Ok so the company puts in safe gaurds and insurance covers the damage(if any) to much worry and your always thinking what are they getting up to...Maybe for the 2/3wks they use your place for a scam/fraud or even end up squatting...to much hassle.

When i go on hols. i close my door and stop my mail..and forget the place..When i return all there should be is some dust..Not finding someones lost sock in the washing machien or hair in the shower plug..

For me it's not even an option i would consider..

i'd be up for that weddie...you want to come to a cow field in sunny italy for a week .... you can bring smokey ... and i'll come to vienna or wherever your place is...i love it there in austria by the way..

Yeah, I'm very keen on this idea...I've always wanted to do a house-swap with Hugh Hefner...I wouldn't mind spending a week in the Playboy mansion...imagine the room service!!??
