What would or will happen part 2 ( Archived) (6)

Well as most of you know there are millions of people who firmly beleive that the world will end, or at least how we know it on Dec.21st 2012 at the end of the Mayan calender's cycle. So I asked yesterday, what people would do, if they truely believed this, like million truely do.. no I'm not one of them..

But anyhow most people who posted said that if they beleived the world was going to end soon, they would quit their jobs and spend the rest of their time with their families/loved ones.
I also think that there would be massive looting and rioting, possibly murders and rapes taking place also...Because we all know some people that .....well are crazy...

So what is going to happen when 2012 nears closer, are those that truely beleive in the 2012 event going to quit their jobs and do any of the things listed above. and how early will they start horriding things such as food bottled water etc. etc. hoping that they will be able to survive. Will they cause other to panic also..and would take preparations just incase.

could it start wars
more genocides
totally crash of all economies
etc.
etc.

Then when the time came..........nothing happened

what would or will life be like after, what would our nation's future hold?????

I know there were some crazies out there worried about the year 2000... but there are millions of people that beleive in the Mayan Calander (religiously) beleive the stars hold the anwsers.....

Could these people possibly destroy what we know by scaring people into doing unthinkable things like nuking their neighboring Countries or what have you....

I'll try to explain it.... There was a movie where some woman was a physic (mis-spelled) someone walked into the room and she said don't worry about that vase, then it "makes " the person turn to look and by turning they knock the vase unto the floor...

so if enough people truely beleive it is the end of the world, could they actually play a part in making it happen....


This subject isn't really a big deal to me, but I thought it would be something interesting to discuss....

Interesting thoughts, Tater. As you said, this could be worse than the Y2K scare. However, since there are many who also don't believe it means anything, it just might not trigger anything.

Funny, but with Y2K I didn't worry about it, my late husband worried enough about ATM machines going down to withdraw some extra money for that weekend, and a buddy of his still has several cases of MRE's on hand from then. Just an example of how 3 different people reacted to that predicted mini-catastrophe.
