Hmm...well it happened to me...and 4 and a half yrs and one child later I am single and lost my bestfriend (my EX), dont think I would ever have a relationship with a very good friend again as you end up losing alot if it doesnt work out....u can never go back to being just best friends!

Yeah I can understand that you can never go back....its bad enough losing your partner but to lose your best friend as well in one fell swoop is very sad and must be hard for you....hug

Crystal29: I know Im gonny sound really old and boring here but I am so glad Im not starting out now and trying to find the man of my dreams with whom I want to have a family and live happily ever after.....I think the days of those solid, longlasting relationships are now a thing of the past and I despair for you young girls now....you have a difficult time and I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that girls thought they were equal to men and behaved like they were and of course werent and never will be fully equal...this in turn has meant the men dont cherish and respect us so much anymore.......and with a girl like your exs ex I can sometimes see why

U dont sound old!! haha!! Years ago you met someone and married them , had a family and were together for life....people give up too easily these days....divorce has become the norm etc and people dont try hard enough to work through problems.... JMO so dont snap my head off anyone for saying that.

Also...due to internet dating etc and all new ways of meeting people and communication, there is just too much choice out there for people - they may be with someone and then think "What if there is someone better??" so they move on to the next person.....

No. Not for "people". For women. Blokes don't think that way.

Just curious about this, do you think that women will always face discrimination? (seems very pessimistic)

When I reread my posting it does seems pessimistic and Im not a pessimistic person by nature...maybe its my life experiences that have led me to feel like this....but I do think in general life is tougher for women and although I would like to say otherwise I think they do continue to be discriminated against in some areas of their lives...Im not anti-male however..its just my observations..... cheers
