Intelligent or educated does not have to mean university degrees. Someone who can hold a decent conversation about what's going on in the world would be good though. It would be nice to meet someone who knows what's going on in the world and has their own opinions but does not belittle my opinions if they differ.
I would be fussy about someone working and paying their own way though. I have worked too hard for everything I've got. I will not tolerate a scrounger (be it out of necessity or meanness). Was married to one of them for long enough.

As far as the financial thing goes, same for me. I'll be happy as long as they can pay for their own stuff. In return, I won't ask them to pay for mine.

Been there, done that too DG. Won't be financially supporting, bailing out or donating (as in leaving my purse in view) to a man again.
I'm flexible, but there are things I will not compromise on! For example, if I am experiencing meanness or if the guy isn't nurturing the relationship, I'm gone! Had that and will NOT go there again!
I dont go by set criteria. Chemistry is just that, but I would want a relationship to develop out of the chemistry, a relationship that is going somewhere.
i would be flexible it all depends on the woman and if there is a connection age dont bother me much i have been attracted to both older and younger women as for her having kids or wanting some either be cool was raised by a stepdad and at end of day all kids need is love and security ,though got to say i would be bit nervous with teenage kids simply as i would be starting in the deepend and they would find it harder to accept a outsisider if things ever went to that level
